Ghetto Research is probably my favorite Bored Stiff album (next to Explainin'). We recorded it over the span of about two months--right before we went on tour in Denmark (2001). Our only guest appearances were the Mystic Journeymen (PSC and Sunspot) and they ripped it as usual. We never had a budget to get it mastered, and I always felt like that was the missing ingredient that was needed. So I put together a Mastered Version for all the Stiff fans that really brings out the sonic detail and vocal clarity. This album deserves it. Enjoy.

BACKGROUND

Bored Stiff is internationally known for their classic, underground, raw and original sound. Their lyrics and production center from a style that captures and blends ideas and sounds like a collage. Bored Stiff (aka B.S. or The Stiff) was formed in 1992 in the Fillmore, lower
Haight Street section of San Francisco. Made up of 12
members including Equipto, P-Way, Big Shawn, TD Camp, Mint Rock, Mic, K-Dub, Julz, and more,
the group recorded countless tapes through the 90's,
and released two EPs, "Explainin'”, "Timeless,"(now
high priced collectors items), an album entitled
"Ghetto Research"(look out for bootleg vinyl in
Europe), and appeared on numerous compilations.
Rocking shows throughout the West Coast, Europe,
Cuba, and Japan the group built a strong reputation
and fan base. While most artists seem scared to be themselves, Bored Stiff makes music with the confidence to make a difference. Lookout for Bored Stiff to come together and take their place among Hip-Hop’s finest.
